Steve, I won't engage you on iSeries-specific topics because we don't have
enough common ground to discuss things in a constructive manner, and I don't
think the list needs to hear what essentially is the same argument over and
over.

But in this arena, I have to say I agree with you 100%.  I may not entirely
agree with your list of companies, but in general there is a complete rift
between those corporations with long-term strategies and those who are
blinded by the 90-day stock market cycle.  And certainly IBM seems to be one
of the latter.

I am SO tired of hearing about companies dumping perfectly viable
enterprises just because they aren't AS profitable as another venture, out
of a "responsibility to our shareholders".  Ah boooshwah.  Your
responsibility to your shareholders is not to suck every penny out of the
next 90 days, but to create a strategically sound financial base.
