No it isn't. Today's business requires an immediate return. Most companies,
and certainly the majority of shareholders, don't care about long term
profits or stability. While I disagree with the current philosophy, I think
it's reality. It's a shame, but that's the way it is.


I am SO tired of hearing about companies dumping perfectly viable
enterprises just because they aren't AS profitable as another venture, out
of a "responsibility to our shareholders".  Ah boooshwah.  Your
responsibility to your shareholders is not to suck every penny out of the
next 90 days, but to create a strategically sound financial base.
