We use thin clients. CLI ET2000. They offer POP email and 5250 emulation up to 4 sessions. They work and work. There only problem is the cmos batteries are failing and soldered on to the board. If you never turn them off they keep working, but with dead battery, they loose all their settings, ARGH! I do not know about the thin console. I however am using OPSCON with an IP based serial port converter. Works like a charm with my laptop. We also have an HMC for our 520 at the main office, IBM terminals for our 820, 2x 170's, and 400. Sorry I cannot help on item 2. Looking for comments from actual users of Thin Consoles now available. Good & Bad. Old pc is not an option. Small shop (no tech onsite) deciding if wanting to keep the 100% always available twinax console. (owner actually said "I want something more modern looking....") 2. What does it take to change a i5 520 from twinax console to Thin Console?
