When our people sign on, the standard is a JOBD called BPCS, which has library list and other stuff in it. For a particular work station that has been having all kinds of problems that we having trouble figuring out, I created BPCS2 which has different settings for logging ... log more than the usual.

For this to work, the user of that work station has to sign off with SIGNOFF *LIST in which I gave them as a menu option, but they seem unable to do this ... in your case you would have to get them to sign off using this before the system goes down.

"Can you set joblog description defaults for that user / workstation sign
on, to get detailed log whatever it is doing, and connect that to your other
machine ..."

How?
