I haven't noticed anything on the control panel when powering up...just the
normal BN......

We have switched out UPS's and even powered it on the main grid without
success....

I would try 2 things...

#1 Make sure the power plugs are all in tight and snug
#2 If your power is stable I would take the system OFF the UPS and see what
happens
If it's not, go get a cheap UPS just big enough to hold the system for
very short outages.

And also... anything on the control panel before you power it backup?

Check that your UPS is hooked up correctly. We had this experience
long time ago, totally misread situation, partly because in an
improper power down, the kind of stuff in the log can be misleading.

We need more info... Do a DSPLOG for a time starting about 30 minutes
prior to a shutdown and see what you can find there. Also do WRKPRB
and see what you can see.

One of my 9406-170 has been experiencing a problem lately with
shutting itself down. I have checked the power schedule and its ok
since we typically never shut it down.

About two months ago we moved the machine to a different location
and did a normal power down, no problems. It IPL's ok or seems to.

One thing I have noticed is that it only occurs after someone
connects to the machine using client access......when using Mocha or
any other

client we

have no problems.

Suggestions or insights on what may be causing this problem?
