I believe our web team uses JavaMail.
We've used MMAIL and as of recently, Gumbo's SPOOLMAIL, which I find to be a
great tool for converting spool files into .PDF to be emailed.

Nobody use JavaMail?

I have used JavaMail to send e-mails from RPG or CL process, and works very
fine. You can use iSeries SMTP or a externally SMTP server.

Evidently, you need know Java. In my company, i develop a Java Class that
recieve subjetc, text, user, attachments, html embebed in message, etc.

The next step was protototype RPG Java-procedures that executes my java classes.

It isn`t necessary add users to DIRE or SMTP names.

Actually, my co-workers, are using a CMD to send e-mail (more than 500 e-mails
by day with attachments).
