Since the record "must" be placed in the buffer prior to the update, I don't believe you can actaully do a update with no read. The IOP is going to move the record into the program no matter what method used. Just because you didn't execute a read doesn't mean it didn't happen. In fact, with "keyed access", you get at least two reads as I recall. Chris Bipes wrote:
