Dave, Did you change the console type in DST on the System i-iSeries-AS/400? I've always had better luck if I disconnect the port 0, address 0 device. I believe the instructions in Info Center tell you to do this. We just got in an ops console cable to use in replacing out old 5250 console. Hooking up a 9406-800 @ V5R3. I ran the cable from the 800 to the PC serial port, turned on auto config, ran through the wizard on the ops console set up and can't get a connection (according to the ops console screen on the PC) even after an IPL. A couple/few questions: Do I need to remove the 5250 device from address 0 port 0? Do I need to configure anything manually on the iSeries side? Any other words of wisdom? I did follow the instructions at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/index.jsp?topic=/r zam9/rzam952l02.htm David Smith IT Consultant
