I don't know about "everyday" emulation, or corporate use, but there's an open source emulator at <http://tn5250.sourceforge.net/>, it's easy to even download the binary for Windows. I set it up at home for a VPN connection awhile back, among other things to avoid bothering with CA. Piece of cake, fast implement. Real simple at the time, but James Rich and Scott Klement and the rest that work on it get a round of applause and thanks from me.
