BTW, the 170 do have the expanasion side bolted to it. 2 power connectors to
power it.

I think you will also need to insure that you have an expansion or I think
they called them sidecars on the 170, as I don't believe you can place a
2729 (the precursor to the 2749) in the 170 CEC. The 170 had specific slots,
low speed and high speed PCI slots.  There are only two high speed slots in
the 170 (C03 and perhaps C07) and the C07 one is used by the disk
controller.  This is off the top of my head on the slots so I maybe off a
slot, but I remember there is only 2 high speed slots. I think the addition
that you need is something like a 7107 expansion to be able to pu the 2729
card in.  I have tried putting the card in C03, and it wouldn't work.
Problem withthe C03 slot, is it is tough to put any card in that slot as it
runs right up against the memory chips.
