You have the expansion so you have a slot for the card.
The card you need is a FC #2729 which will have a 68pin HVD SCSI port on the back of it. That card MUST go into slot E09 in the expansion unit. That same card drives all external tape that the 170 supports.

I have several of these cards laying around so if you need one please contact me off line.
