Dave, Do _NOT_ use SNDDST. The primary limitation of SNDDST is that you can only attach files from the old office vision file system (/QDLS). /QDLS has very poor performance and limits you to old dos style 8.3 file names. Even if your current requirements don't include sending attachments, I'd be willing to bet they change sometime soon in the future. Why limit yourself from the start and have to switch to some other method. If you want something for free, go with one of the many QTmmSendMail wrappers, there are even some wrappers for Java's send email. Lastly, the downside of using the iSeries SMTP server is it can be difficult to troubleshoot. You may want to consider paying for a cheap 3rd party solution that bypasses the built-in SMTP server. Brad Stone's is one the comes to mind. http://www.bvstools.com HTH, Charles Wilt -- iSeries Systems Administrator / Developer Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America ph: 513-573-4343 fax: 513-398-1121 > -----Original Message----- > From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Odom > Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2006 6:12 PM > To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: emailing from application on the iSeries > > Chris & Rob, > > Thanks for the response.
