James, Are you using the iSeries as a DNS server? I've not ever configured DHCP on the iSeries. But on a Windows DHCP server you can have reservations by MAC address. So that a given MAC address will always be assigned a given IP address. Normally, I've used reservations for printers and other non-PC hardware. You could then configure the PC's in question to use DHCP and secure the settings from being changed.
