The World Trade Center bombing (1993) had me recovering a firm that needed to run payroll that weekend. (The bombing occurred on Friday, February 26, 1993.) I was recovering the customer at a DR site, and their H/R vendor had no method of getting me a software key over the weekend. So I changed the system serial number, and we ran payroll. IBM was really mad at me! If your business is a 24 x 7 operation or works multiple shifts or etc., you want to be able to get that key at, say, 0300 on Sunday. * Jerry C.
