We also try to keep people from using terminals, yes we still have some of them as well as terminal emulators, that are located in areas outside of their department. You would be surprised what people try to sneak and do in a printer room behind a closed door. And for that remote access, I use my BB with a named device for that emergency when I do not have access to my laptop or can find an internet connection. Most access violations are done by someone in department A going to another department's computer after hours when no one is around. Usually trying to get into someone personnel records that they do not supervise. We have recently upgraded to Windows 2003 Active Directory and have almost finished getting rid of Win98 for XP. Then we will restrict what PC's users can log on to which will help when we get rid of 5250 for HTTP. I love security, it keeps me employed. A BIG thank you to all of you crackers out there. :<)) Christopher Bipes Information Services Director CrossCheck, Inc. 707.586.0551, ext. 1102 707.585.5700 FAX Chris.Bipes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.Cross-Check.com Notice of Confidentiality: This e-mail, and any attachments thereto, is intended only for use by the addressee(s) named herein and may contain legally privileged and/or confidential information.
