Sure. But if these folks are the majority, they create the perception for others and this can kill a system.
I think "these folks" are just noisy and uneducated. I think the whining will abate with a little more education, or with a few more .Net and SQL Server installs and the loss of the green screen programming job. I would prefer the former, of course, but while there is little education, and green screen developers remain ignorant and unmoving, the progress is slow. Your position is one that helps keep us in the dark green ages.
