LAN guard Port Scanner from GFI can do port scans, but you need to have
a remote machine running something on UDP port 500 to test against.  If
you know the service agent IP or DNS name, you can try to scan for it.
IBM may block scanning packets though.  A call to your ISP may be the
best way.  They really should not block outbound connections unless you
request them to do so.

Our firewall is managed by isp and is a major pain just to find out if a
port is open. 
Svc Agt is giving me some errors when I try & run sndptford via
ethernet/internet and 
2nd level text says (among other things) to be sure port 500 udp is
open.
Is there an easy test i can do from iSeries or pc lan to verify the
firewall allowing 
this port? Test much originate from within the network, not outside.
