Huge? :) Well, actually it depends: - Does the new box have the appropriate amount of RAM? You're tripling the theoretical max CPWs but max throughput cannot be achieved without sufficient RAM. - Is the number of disk arms sufficient? It can be less than your old box, as Rob has commented on in the past, but too few can still create a choke-point. - 10K or 15K disks? - 2780 or other disk controller? Mirroring or RAID5?
