Have you already read the Memo to Users (from IBM) for release V5R2 (since
you
are skipping it you need to know those changes) and for V5R3. These are both
in
the IBM iSeries site, under Support, and Preventative Service Planning
(PSP).
Also somewhere on the site (have not looked lately) is all the hardware &
software
that is no longer supported. Read the list carefully, there is nothing like
going live
and something not working and hours later on a support call they tell you
it's
no longer supported. Just because the 270 can support V5R3, doesn't mean all
hardware features and software.
I always check IBM's new version of QSTRUP and incorporate their changes
into my
customer version.
