I am pretty sure RPG cannot see SQL created identity columns. In other words, you would have to stick with SQL access.

ok, I hear you. So, I can alter the file DDS with SQL, and then RPG, DDS,
WRKQRY will recognize the new trait?
Is there a downside that I need to be prepared for?
