This isn't entirely true. Where's Brad, he usually hangs out here?
I think it only converts to TIFF when there are graphics or its and AFPDS.
Otherwise a regular SCS spool file is searchable.
In fact, the suite has SPLTOOL which works with spool files and allows
emailing, MAILTOOL for sending emails, and AFPTOOL for converting AFPDS
files to PDF for emailing/sending/

I looked at several other (more expensive commercial) products and Brad's
was the best bang for the buck. It works very well, and he has always been
very quick to respond to any issues.

I'll take a look at it.

The job log from Brad's has the following:
10800 - SNDPGMMSG MSGID(CPF9898) MSGF(QCPFMSG) MSGDTA('Performing Tiff to
 PDF conversion...') TOPGMQ(*EXT) MSGTYPE(*STATUS)

It also has a .tiff output option and doesn't find text when I search
search so I'm inclined to say that it does it all as an image. The good
news is that it's billed as an AFPDS-only tool but it doesn't seem to have
a problem with SCS spool files.

Another one is CVTSPLSTMF from Ariadne Software

I didn't think Brad's AFPTOOL converted to graphics.
