Here's how it works with the Suite (or even just SPLTOOL and AFPTOOL installed) The SPL2STMF command is called to convert to PDF. (SPL2STMF is Spooled file to Stream File, and part of SPLTOOL). It looks at the spooled file, if its SCS, it does it't normal text-PDF conversion. If it's AFPDS, it uses AFPTOOL to do the conversion. That way with customers using both types, it will do it the "proper" way. :) I saw someone mention AFPTOOL seems to work on SCS spooled files. It will on most, but not on all. For the price of both (if needed) you're still saving a lot of $$ (and receiving superior support in most cases) than with others.
