That's what I thought and wanted to be sure :-) From what they are getting
(that SRC) is sounds like it is trying to do an IPL from tape. I'll have
them check the IPL type again.

Thanks !

Chuck

Just making sure it isn't insisting on a tape because you told it to IPL
from tape.
Yes, 01 B - N is normal.

Rob,

Been long while since I've messed with IPL options. Are you asking me what
theirs is or telling me what it should be ? :-)

I am thinking 01 B - N is normal ?

Thanks !

Chuck

Subject
AS/400 model 250 with SRC 1014507 ?

Hi folks,

Had a friend contact me and they were firing up a 250 that had not been on
in some time. They have the System Attention light on and B1014507
displayed. I tried searching and found:

B1xx 4507

These SRCs appear if the tape device for the alternate IPL was not found
or
was not ready. Make sure the tape device is powered on and the correct
tape
is loaded and ready. To make tape devices ready, you may need to open and
close the tape device door.

Then perform the appropriate procedure under Installation
<
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/books/c415120633.htm#HDRK

WICSRC> Recovery after SRCs.

But this seems to be in reference to loading a system or something (?) and
they are not (intentionally) trying to do that.

They checked and there was a tape loaded in the tape drive and they took
it
out and re-IPL'd and got the SAME thing. The door on the tape unit is shut
good.

Anyone have any idea what this could be ?

Thanks !

Chuck
