I have to admit that when we first looked at the iSeries the initial "get your foot in the door" cost was a bit higher than we would have preferred, but the ongoing support costs and upgrade fees are significantly less than it would be to operate on a windows platform. What Microsoft does not tell the customer, is all of those hidden fees they hit you with, seat license fees, etc.
