There is also a decent open source product called asterisk which runs on
a PC running linux. 

In my experience your endpoints will make a big difference in call
quality; so don't skimp on the phones themselves.

I would completely and totally agree with Dave on this question.

If you are looking for VOIP, and we just completed a four year rollout
of VOIP, I would have two suggestions - Avaya and NEC, nothing else
compares in my book.

JMHO, of course ... but using the iSeries for VOIP seems like using the
wrong tool for the job.

Of course I haven't done any research into it ... so I could be wrong.
