At my last job I found out that you COULD do a POWER OFF on a S/36 from some console other than the terminal even while, (unbeknownst to me) the boss was giving a demo on the machine to a customer in the other room.

EEWW! I thought I was the only dummy who had ever done that.... :-))

I didn't do it on a S/38, but I did it once on a S/34 on the switch on the side, while at a customer site no less. :(
