Welcome to V5R3.  IBM is getting rather @#%%&y on CCSID's and that sort of 
rot.  Hardest hit was CPYFRMIMPF.

They have a workaround to make the command work like V5R2, but they want 
you to grovel to get it.

v5r3 problem






Hi all,
We have upgraded to V5R3.
Iam getting  a data-mapping error when the CPYFRMIMPF command is run, 
despite the fact that parameter RPLNULLVAL(*FLDDFT) is specified.Any 
suggestions to make this work out.
