A company is managing 700 desktops and doesn't have an automated tool for deploying software? Sounds like your client needs a different outsourcer for their network. This upgrade should be a no brainer, and not very expensive. Even so --> 700 PC * 15 min/pc * $150/hr = $26250 ----> what is this compared to the overall project cost? > They've also held off > because they're considering different emulation tool options but haven't > yet made a decision. Perhaps a web-based emulation tool is a better choice, avoiding the deployment option completely. Seagull makes one (Blue Zone) that is very easy to deploy from the iSeries web server. > Unfortunately they have an urgent business need to do > some OS400 and AIX server consolidation, hence V5R3 must happen on the > first of their systems this weekend so we can move to i5 hardware, and no > one internally has really pushed the Client Access issue. Probably the right advice, but, any comparison possible between your additional costs to deal with this situation and the additional costs for the software deployment. -- Tom Jedrzejewicz tomjedrz@xxxxxxxxx
