WDS includes the compilers.  You may not need the comm. utilities but I
think they are a free option.  The SQL is a chargeable option and required
to embed SQL into RPG or other HLL.

I think this is going to be one of those things that looks good on the
surface
(the box itself is relatively inexpensive), but the licences and extra
software
from IBM (WDS, SQL, etc) will probably make the cost prohibative.

If I had my way, I'd be dumping the Synon stuff real fast and avoid the
licence
altogether, but that's the way it goes.
