You might want to request directories as the only type of pathnames returned using the -type switch: find /edi4xxpgm/network/ix/ini -type d -mtime +30 -exec rm -r {} \; Furthermore, just to make sure you realize this... QShell will create a separate job to process each rm command that it runs. So, this is a REALLY inefficient way to do mass-deletes. If performance is a concern at all, I'd suggest writing the output of 'find' to a file, and cycling through that file to delete things. That'll run much faster.
