I don't see what this has to do with the MOVEA op-code?

Wouldn't this simply be the following?

   if (%scan('@': myField) = 0);
      msg = 'HEY! Put a @ char in the e-mail address,' +
            ' and try again!';
   endif;

Why would you want to use MOVEA?  How does MOVEA even help?!
