Thanks Charles, We are currently compiling with Dftactgrp(*YES). I am starting to see some RPG programs with compiler directives like Dftactgrp(*NO). I am aware that if you are calling an RPG program with Dfactgrp(*no) from a clp with dftactgrp(*yes) you will likely have two programs in different activation groups within the job. This would mean the standard default overrides for ovrdbf and shared opens would possibly not work as expected. --- CWilt@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > Vance, > > I think the detail answer is "it depends ;-)" You need to know how the > programs ended up in the default activation group. > > Are you compiling programs with DFTACTGRP(*YES) > which as I understand it, should pose no problems > > or with DFTACTGRP(*NO) ACTGRP(*CALLER) > which as I understand could be a problem. > > Charles Wilt > iSeries Systems Administrator / Developer > Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America > ph: 513-573-4343 > fax: 513-398-1121 > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Vance Stanley [mailto:w_vance_stanley@xxxxxxxxx] > > Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 12:09 PM > > To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > > Subject: ILE in Default Activaction Group > > > > > > This is probably a tired subject so forgive me.......... > > > > I am working in a shop where it appears that most ILE > > programs are running in the Default > > Activaction group.
