Jon, You didn't by any chance run one of those programs that is supposed to "optimize" your PC internet connection? Perhaps that altered some frame/buffer sizes somewhere that are causing your PC to have problems with the link provided by the hotel and lose characters. The other thing I wonder is if a satellite link is involved (something with high propagation delay), just because it seems like you're getting out of sync. That last example seemed to show you issuing a quit and then getting back an error from the previous STOR subcommand. Do you have problems with data coming your direction (ex. GET) or only going out (PUT)? You're not using a dialup connection, are you? The way you're dropping characters reminds me of a modem that has estabished a link without error correction. -Marty
