RE: PING and FTP question

Thanks for all the answers - I think that the main cause is that the target
is (as per Jeff Silverberg) is blocking the ICMP request!!

I am going to create a simple FTP request to list directories and then check
the FTP log to see if the connections and / or request was successful.
