Catherine, The steps to accomplish this are: 1. Create the file on the iSeries. 2. INZTAP using standard labels 3. CPYTOTAP - Copies the file to the tape 4. send it to the other computer. Has anyone ever copied an ISeries flat file to 3490E tape, and then used the tape as input to a mainframe? All IBM hardware. I'm really curious as to whether a mainframe could read a tape produced by an ISeries. Both are EBCDIC, of course, but am wondering about stuff like tape headers, etc. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
