The SAVRSTLIB command looked like just what my customer needed to transfer
libraries to/from their LPAR's using the VLAN that connects them, but, for
the life of me, I can't get the routing to work.

I first did the TCP routing entries, got everything pinging back and forth
and got nowhere. I went to the archives and found some entries about
setting up SAVRSTLIB and discovered that I should be using APPN to handle
the communications. There were some controller description examples which I
used to set things up. But, I get an error when I try to use the command:

Route to specified location not found.
An error occurred during the SAVRSTLIB operation.

APING returns:
Verifying APPC connection to remote location JCPSDEV on mode BLANK.
Remote location JCPSDEV for conversation B not found.
Command did not complete on the specified wait time.

I tried to vary on the controller descriptions, they fail with:

APPN session initiation attempt has failed.
System cannot call controller JCPSDEV. No lines available. (C R)

All of which is to say: "You have configured it wrong"

The controllers point to the VLAN line descriptions which I know work
because we can ping and FTP like crazy using them. Do I need to create other
line descriptions.

I am very rusty on the APPC stuff. A quick refresher would be helpful.

TIA.
