HP Laser jet remote out q problem

HI What happens here is that sometimes, fairly regularly, a spool file finishes 
printing, but the status stays as *SND. So the spool files behind it have to 
wait. I go in and put it on HLD and everything is fine. I gather that the 400 
is not getting a message from the printer that the printer finished that spool 
file. Is there anything that can be done to fix this problem?
