if you've got the time you can roll your own with CPYSPLF. Investigate the
CTLCHAR option.

I did this way back in 1990.  Build a list of spooled files, and copy each
spooled file to a member of a physical, maybe one physical file for each
day, one member for each spooled file.

Create a special member / physical file to hold store an index of the
spooled files,
so that you can use this to retrieve the data when you need to bring it
back.
