Never give up!. It's not really all that hard, just a little tricky. Here's a link to an IBM doc, "Using CPYSPLF to Re-Create a Spooled File or Create a PC File ", on how to do this, and more.

There's an example os creating a new spooled file with different attributes. You can use that example, using the original atrributes as needed. Or base it on the original PRTF.
