IBM has reduced the prices on certain models so that this quarter is not a total washout as people wait for the new hardware. Therefore pricewise they will be comparable. Maintenance costs will be significantly lower on the newer models. Future growth path will be much better. As far as waiting for the 'bugs' to be worked out, I am in the process of downloading 79 PTF's for my V5R2 machines as I type this. Why wait? Heck I if still ran V2R3 and if IBM still supported it, I'd probably be still downloading ptf's for that. And, there is always more than one cume out before a release becomes GA.
