Many years ago, back when I spent six months fixing computers (mostly Apple //c's) for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I saw an apprentice brush up against the 12kV "well" while fixing a monochrome monitor. As I recall, she jumped a remarkable distance, and had the most peculiar expression on her face. Once brushed up against a hot 120VAC terminal inside a Commodore PET. Had a sore forearm for a day or two. -- JHHL
