I doubt you'd find anything like that on your average netstation or PC motherboard. Now, our UPS - that's another matter. IBM and otherwise. Turns out this one particular type of capacitor is bad. It's gotten to the point, (since a lot of this equipment is off warranty) that we are soldering on our own replacement capacitors now. The capacitor is a blue thing, about the size of some digital camera batteries. You may notice some bulging at the top or some warping at the bottom. The bad ones seem to have an 'x' on the top. I believe the Q, K or Y are ok.
