Roger, Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know there was a limit. I'm pretty sure that isn't our problem, the user in question is the only one trying to access the file. When we first set up a DDM application and had multiple users trying to connect, we discovered that there were limits to the number of users who could use the connection. IIRC, the DDM connection device was set up to allow 8 user jobs. Once a user used a connection, their job held it until the job ended or it timed out. Our solution was to create a data queue with monitor program to update the DDM files. That way we could have as many users as we wanted and still only use one DDM line. HTH, Roger Mackie
