Murali: I'd respond to more of your questions, but I have work to do first. I also need to subscribe in digest mode, so I can't be quick in my responses -- I try to review all digests to see if someone else has already answered. But I sure don't mind your questions. New questions from new people are what we ought to be encouraging. Although you have trouble using the link that Vern gave you, there might be two sources of information on your system. First, there is help text for the FMTDTA command from a command line in OS/400. Second, you can open the sort specifications in SEU and press <F4> to prompt each of the specification source lines. When they're prompted, each of the fields have help text associated with them. Lots of information can be taken from here. You need to open the specifications with a member type of 'SRT36', I think, before SEU knows how to prompt them and give help. And I think you've done well in how you've tried to limit your questions lately. I have a hard enough time trying to read some of IBM's documentation; I can't imagine trying to understand it if I spoke Swahili (or your native language) instead of English. And I don't want to get into the issues with Info Center for anyone who isn't using a recent version of Internet Explorer, though it is vastly improved during the past six months or so.
