It sounds like you want to apply a technical solution to a human problem.
Perhaps a stricter discipline policy is in order with some form of
escalation? (Solitary confinement? Public floggings? A firing squad?)
We use Kronos iSeries Timekeeper with barcoded badges for clocking in/out.
You don't swipe your badge, you don't get paid. You get caught scanning
someone else's badge and you get sent to the principle's office. It works
pretty good.

We have a monthly drawing for an award for perfect attendance of hourly
employees. It also requires that they be on time every day. There are
some pretty nice prizes (TV's, DVD players, etc.). We had been using
Kronos for shopfloor labor reporting but when we started having them scan
in instead of manually reporting their arrival time the numbers dropped
quite a bit. There were even some angry employees who disputed the system
but everything was correctly logged. There are still human issues to
contend with even with technical solutions.

Looking for a recommendation for a biometric (hand activated) timeclock
to connect to an iSeries. Would prefer ethernet & not to require a pc
server.
This is a small shop 80-100 employees with no onsite tech.
Employee punches a number and places hand on device to clock in/out.
(It keeps employees from punching in for each other).
