Re: Print/fax PDF on Iseries

I really don't want to have to involve the PC in any way if I can help it.
Is there not other way to spool a file onto an AS400 printer.. Maybe a
Java program running on the machine or something...
also, I don't see a print to fax driver in client access

One perverted way is to have a client PC. Install the print-to-fax driver
from iSeries Access. Then RUNRMTCMD to that PC and have it print to it.
Might take some fine tuning to bypass the print-to-fax prompt screen.

Print/fax PDF on Iseries

I am creating system to e-mail and fax certain document outside the
company. I have the e-mail peice completed but have run into a road
block
on the faxing peice.
The problem I am having is that on occasion the users needs to be able to
bundle associated documents, not created on the iseries, with the fax. the
manual process is that they stand in front of the fax machine with a bunch
of paper and fax it. With the automated faxing they want to be able to
specify certain documents on the IFS and bundle those with the FAX.

How does one take a PDF and FAX it with Fax/400, I also have infoprint
server on the machine and have seen that we can transform from PDF to AFP
I
just can't figure out how to make the transform happen. No one here is
very familiar with either fax/400 or or infoprint...
