Thanks for the responses. I will review the options mentioned as they may 
provide more insight (to me) regarding our network, as I am not the 
network guy here, just a project leader doing some socket programming and 
I wanted to be able to trace the data from my socket program to a windows 
server.

I did however figure out what I needed to do using the instructions from 
INFOCENTER for doing a communications trace. The results were what I 
wanted too. It proved my socket program does work and is sending data to 
where it is directed.
