I know darned well that you've learnt and used Visual RPG, and writing a
pre-processor is far easier than that.  The hardest part of this
pre-processor idea is getting started.  Basically, it amounts to

read a record
  scan for your home-grown keyword
  if found,
    process the keyword
    remove the keyword (or comment it)
    update the DDS source
  repeat scan
repeat read
