There are a couple of ways to affect what appears under iSeries Navigator.

Typically what happens under a new install, or a reload, is that someone
only loads "Basic Operations". To see if that is your issue complete the
following:
Start, Programs, IBM iSeries Access for Windows, Selective Setup. Strongly
suggest you verify this!

If that is not your case it might be that someone has restricted what may
be done under iSeries Navigator. This is called 'Application
Administration'. Right Click on the system name and select "Application
Administration".

All iSeries Navigator does is call api's. You could call those api's
yourself. Or purchase a green screen tool that some gui phobic person
wrote. I know there's at least one out there. But I'd try the Selective
Setup option. That often does it.

Subject
Problem trying to create a share

I know I have done this before so I think someone may have changed
something
that I am not aware of.

I want to create a share for one of my directories in the IFS

When I go into Ops Navigator I see our AS/400 name under My Connections, I
used to expand the system name and I could see

Such things as Work Management, Users and Groups, File Systems etc.

Today I do not see them, so I cannot go into File Systems, Integrated File
System to create the share.

I have two questions

1) What determines what is displayed under the System name (ie Work
Management, File Systems etc)

2) Is there another way to map a drive other then using Operations
Navigator?

Thanks for any help you may give me

John
