Most everybody had problems. Pete Massiello is of the opinion that theThat would be surprising but I'm not disagreeing. If they built it NOT expecting all rooms to be on line at once, then they were stupid. We all know that it just doesn't cost all that much money (compared, say to the windows in the place) to light up a 1000 ethernet locations. Providing them Internet access would require but a single PIX firewall and some bandwidth, again no sweat.
system was just overloaded, and that the system was never built for
everybody to be on-line simultaneously.
I'm just taken aback by the "rip you off" attitude of that hotel. On this we agree completely!

I'm really sorry that all you guys had problems with your high speed access. My experience was exactly the opposite. I walked into my room on Saturday, connected my Wireless base unit to the wall, opened my laptop and was off and running all week without a hitch. The interesting thing I think is they had a number of people at the conference that likely could have solved their problem had they only thought to ask.... Had I know there was that big a problem I would have offered to help just for the fun!

For those of you collecting horror stories about the Gaylord Palms, here is one of mine:
As those of you who were staying at the Gaylord Palms (for the COMMON
Conference) know, the in-room (high speed?) internet WAS NOT working.
One day I had to check my e-mail messages, so I used the telephone
line in the room.
